SUMMARY OF POSITION:
We are currently seeking a qualified Physician Assistant to manage
and coordinate overnight care in the ICU for Cardiac Thoracic
post-surgery patients from 7p-7a. The ideal candidate needs to have
the ability to manage high-acuity patients and can prioritize care
based on each patient's needs, be detailed oriented and maintain an
open line of communication, and model a collaborative, professional
relationship with all staff. Works in an inpatient critical care
area that also provides mechanical circulatory support. The
Physician Assistant should be proficient in Chest Tube Placement,
Thoracentesis and Paracentesis, Central Line placement and
management; A-lines, Swans, IABP management, CRRT management, and
Ventilator management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or
baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure
requirements in the State of employment
National Certification in State of employment or in another State
with reciprocity and licensure to practice in the State of
employment
Minimum two (2) years in Critical Care managing Cardiac Surgery
patients
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
ICU critical care experience
Two (2) years experience as a physician assistant
