Brief Description of Job and Division/Department

Morris County Office on Aging, Disabilities, and Community Programming Provides assistance to Morris County Seniors, Adults with a Disability, and Veterans. Position assists in the professional, administrative and analytical work to promote the planning, operation, implementation, monitoring and/or evaluation of community oriented programs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

* Acts as coordinator between community groups, public and private agencies, and other groups in developing, maintaining, and/or expanding social service projects.
* Reviews funding proposals to determine their eligibility, completeness, and technical content.
* Meets with the public and others to gather information.
* Reviews contact reports for service delivery accuracy.
* Assists in disseminating results of surveys, public relations material, and other informational matter.
* Prepares various correspondence relative to the work of the unit.
* Maintains essential records and files.
* Provides support in executing contracts.
* Transposes data collected into usable forms such as simple reports.
* Assesses and evaluates project proposals for grants to determine if they meet federal, state, and/or local requirements and if they possess the potential for rendering needed services to any community segment they are designed to serve.
* Represents the agency at various meetings and conferences.
* Prepares correspondence and reports.
* Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.

Qualifications

Required to possess a Driver--s license valid in New Jersey Ability to understand, remember, and carry out written and oral directions. Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. Preference will be given to applicants with professional experience with Human Services grants, working with Senior Services and those who possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or University.
