Job Summary Benjamin Moore & Co., a Berkshire Hathaway company, is a leading manufacturer of innovative, high-quality coatings for the architectural and industrial maintenance markets. We are currently seeking a Product Development Chemist II to join our Exterior Coatings formulation team. In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues in the Exterior Coatings laboratory utilizing your architectural and industrial maintenance coatings experience to improve upon existing products and develop and commercialize the next generation of coatings, stains, and primers. As a Product Development Chemist II, you will identify, explore, and prove the feasibility of new chemistries, provide direction to team members, and offer support and solutions to Quality and Supply Chain issues and initiatives.   • Develop new products in partnership with the Technical and Innovation Laboratory, Quality, Marketing and Manufacturing teams
  • Initiate, design, and execute multidimensional experiments
  • Extensive knowledge of competitive and industry playing field
  • Knowledge of formulation tools, techniques, performance metrics and manufacturing processes
  • Manage several projects concurrently
  • Support resolution of Quality, Procurement and Manufacturing issues
  • Plan and support Manufacturing scale-ups
  • Maintain laboratory and equipment
  • Provide direction and training to team members

  • Adhere to all laboratory safety guidelines QualificationsDesired Experience / Qualifications * BS Chemistry; 8+ years of experience * Strong people and cross-functional team management skills * Exhibits & fosters team behavior within & outside the laboratory * Excellent communication, presentation & organizational skills * Possess good analytical problem-solving skills to make timely & accurate decisions * Clear & concise record keeping QUALIFICATIONS:* Minimum of 1-year customer contact center experience preferred.* High School Diploma or equivalent required.* Emphasizes excellent customer service.* Previous SAP experience preferred.* Proven capability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.* Good organizational skills; detail oriented; self-starter.* Excellent verbal, written and telephone communication skills.* Basic knowledge of Windows, MS Office Suite, and Google Chrome required.* Demonstrated ability to multi-task with keyboarding and phone required.* Must be able to work in a team environment.* Ability to work occasional overtime is required.* Effective problem-solving skills.Required
