The ideal candidate needs to have the ability to manage high-acuity patients and can prioritize care based on each patient's needs, be detailed oriented and maintain an open line of communication, and model a collaborative, professional relationship with all staff. Works in an inpatient critical care area that also provides mechanical circulatory support. The Physician Assistant should be proficient in Chest Tube Placement, Thoracentesis and Paracentesis, Central Line placement and management; A-lines, Swans, IABP management, CRRT management, and Ventilator management.MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of employmentNational Certification in State of employment or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in the State of employmentMinimum two (2) years in Critical Care managing Cardiac Surgery patientsBasic Life Support (BLS) certificationPREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):ICU critical care experienceTwo (2) years experience as a physician assistantThis job description is a general outline of duties performed and is not to be misconstrued as encompassing all duties performed within the position.
