our mission. Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a talented
Engineer to join our team in Baltimore, MD. The Program/Factory
Quality Engineer develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality
evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing
materials into partially finished or finished materials product,
focusing on defect minimization and process improvement.
- Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to
ensure quality standards are in place. Performs oversight and
monitoring of program risks and opportunities.
- Assists in the performance of independent quality reviews to
ensure compliance with contractual and customer requirements.
- Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and
correction assuring process and product quality. Ensures that
corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that
documentation is compliant with requirements.
- May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material,
production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory
control and/or research and development as they apply to product or
process quality.
- May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering
methodologies. Basic Qualifications
- Principal Engineer Quality: Bachelor's + 5 years of exp:
Master's + 3 years of exp; PhD + 0 years of exp. 9+ years of
experience in leu of degree.
- Sr. Principal Engineer Quality: Bachelor's + 8 years of exp:
Master's + 6 years of exp; PhD + 3 years of exp. 12+ years of
experience in leu of degree.
- Active Secret Clearance at the time of application.
- Solid written and verbal interpersonal, communication skills
and confidence to brief senior management with solid foundation in
Mission Assurance applications.
- Ability to coordinate customer communications across multiple,
diverse sites.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams to resolve problems
or issues.
- Trained and experienced in performing Root Cause Corrective
Action
- Experience working with electrical or mechanical design
requirements and specifications.
- Experience with SAP Preferred Qualification:
- Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI
- Experience working on Space hardware.
- Manufacturing process knowledge a plus.
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial
Engineering
- Experience in planning and organizing activities across
multiple manufacturing locations.
- Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management
- Record of increasing responsibility supporting manufacturing,
electrical, and mechanical engineering organizations
- Experience in evaluating circuit card assemblies for
workmanship issues.
- Have experience in quality planning.
- Mentor lesser experienced engineers on areas of manufacturing.
Salary Range: $93,000 - $139,600Salary Range 2: $115,400 -
$173,200The above salary range represents a general guideline;
however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when
determining base salary offers such as the scope and
responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience,
education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be
eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual
bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as
allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice
President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability
insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off
